Hi!My name is David and I am a therapeutic counsellor based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
I work face-to-face with adults in comfortable, private surroundings. My approach is called Person-Centred and relies on my actively listening to you and trying to understand and fully accept who you are. We would work in a confidential setting, usually meeting weekly, at the same time, until we agree to finish. Sometimes I work in a brief, solution-focused manner, when appropriate, which means having a set number of sessions that cannot be extended.
My aim is to offer a therapeutic environment in which you and I work together, to safely explore any emotionally difficult and / or complex personal issues. We establish an effective rapport, in which you are neither judged nor pushed - instead you are supported and encouraged - you are free to find your own way.
